The hormone treatments that eventually led to my IVF twins completely wrecked my skin. Breakouts. Dryness. Feeling like I didn't recognize myself in the mirror.

That's when I first learned to actually treat my skin, not just wash my face. Those early routines were about trying to feel like myself again during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

Fast forward a few years. I had my miracle twins. But my marriage ended, and everything fell apart.

In August 2023, I packed up my twins and moved from Washington back to California, back home to my parents. Solo mom. No job. Rebuilding from scratch.

What kept me grounded was my nighttime skincare routine. It became sacred. After the twins were asleep, I had 10–15 minutes that were completely mine. Those moments at the sink reminded me I could still take care of myself when everything else felt like it was falling apart.

That's when I realized: skincare isn't just about your skin. It's about showing up for yourself.

One month after moving home, I enrolled in esthetician school. I fast-tracked the program while juggling solo motherhood, and focused on Korean skincare because it's what had helped my own skin — and because it's result-driven and delivers real transformation.

February 2024, I graduated. March 2024, I got my license. And in August 2024 — exactly one year after moving back to California — I opened Curated SKKN in Anaheim.
